I finally started looking for a laptop.
And I'm officially confused.
I pretty much decided I'm not getting one which runs on Windows, so it's most likely going to be a MacBook.
Most non-Mac seem to be running on Windows Vista, and I totally have no idea what that is. Although the computers I used in office ran on Windows, I think those were still Windows XP. Windows Vista is Greek to me.
Thank goodness I am pretty familiar with Mac now, although it's irritating trying to type Chinese in Word Powerpoint Excel etc. It's also quite difficult to keep my Adobe Photoshop and MSN Messenger updated on a Mac, but since there's quite a lot of Mac users in CS, 以后多多请教大家就是了.
MacBook is starting to look a little boring despite its sophistication due to the few colour options. Seriously just black and white? Current top choice is the one which costs S$1,848.00 with education discount: 13", 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB memory, 160GB hard drive, and double-layer SuperDrive.
Haiz, I'll still have to 倒贴 ≈S$350. There's another cheaper one at S$1,548.00 but the speed is slightly slower and the default memory is lower too, so I guess I better not compromise quality. Anyway, the faster the better!!
Also under the education discount, one can enjoy a rebate of $300 when you buy a qualifying 8 GB iPod nano which costs $318 upon purchase with a qualifying Mac from the Apple Online Store for Education on the same sales receipt. This promotion sounds rather attractive, but I'm not sure if there's any hidden terms and conditions.
