No, there's no typo in the title. It's a combination of Start of Something New and News. Just in case anyone thinks my English is that bad.

Chron has ended for me, and it feels as though school has ended.

It's been a hectic year, but I've never regretted joining Chron as an editor. I think I screwed up a lot, in comparison to the preceding legacy. =P I think I'm better off writing rather than editing, especially for news.

For my first year at SCI, I thought I didn't and might not learn much in CS. I thought I learnt a lot more during my internship. I realized, I might have learnt the wrong things.

Into my second year, it dawned on me that I totally cannot write. Like, totally. It was mainly due to Hedwig. I think her judgment does not say all, because judgment is subjective. But you cannot deny that what she says about news reporting and writing makes much sense. I really learnt a lot, but I have yet to put all these that I've learnt into action. She made me realize all the flaws in my writing. I'm not afraid of her now; I'm simply full of respect and in awe of her. However she criticizes me, I don't get insulted or disheartened. Disheartened, maybe a little, because of how badly I write. I admit I really don't read the papers religiously and critically, and I better start doing so soon, before it's too late.

I learnt a lot during internship, yet I learnt nothing. My editors taught me how to look out for news points, but not exactly how to write leads, how to organize stories, how to insert background (not that I did many stories which involved background), how to use kickers. Not that I asked anyway. I think I didn't put much brain into writing, although I put all my heart into it.
I never knew news writing involved so much, not until my second year in CS. Damn lagged.

Back to being an editor. It's nice to be free of the responsibility now, although there's still pulse. I like doing all these, and I will continue to try my best to bring more useful? important? interesting? content to our readers. Life will continue to be hectic even without Nanyuan, but it's more because of my bad time management. Another thing to improve on, while I try to catch up on school. It's really hard? Because although this is time-consuming and tiring, I prefer this to studying. Weird, but true. Thank goodness I really like most of my modules this semester. COM206 is interesting, but I just cannot do this because I am so not a visual person! Really hopeless. Believe it or not, I do like COM207; I just wish I have more time for it. As for COM221, oh, I love Hedwig. Nah, I learnt a lot, seriously, although I am just not scoring. I cannot say I don't know what she wants, I think I just cannot give her what she wants. COM223 is quite my type of module too, other than the artistic? aesthetic? creative? aspect. I love Astronomy too, but the same issue with time again. I love it so much, in fact, that I don't think I want to sell the textbook after this.

Anyway, pulse will be one-year-old in two months' time! Dear friends, please do support us and spread our name to your friends! Give us feedback, suggestion, constructive criticism, anything you want to tell us!

November is coming. One more month before the oh-so-lovely month of December. End of the semester, a new phone, wireless at home, Taiwan (which is turning into much trouble). But no school, and so no eye candy every Tuesday and Friday. Nah, my eye candy is not from school. We have concluded that there is no eye candy in school.

Having eye candy is a stupid thing. But seriously, when life is like hell, one glance of that random person can set your mood for the day, especially when that's the first thing you see on the long tormenting journey to school. It helps, really, just from the Poi Ching bus stop to Tanjong Pagar. You don't think of much, you don't expect anything (except that he might notice your existence; ego lah), you just enjoy being in close proximity of him. Of course, it's really hard to catch the right timing, and it gets a little disappointing not seeing him. Oh well, forgive the bimbotism. I think I better learn driving soon. 153, 157, 232, what might follow? Nothing which will lead to anything.

Anyway, I got an Instant Win for the McD Monopoly game! 3rd and 4th person free with first two paying adults for Star Virgo! Still have to pay lah, but this is like half price? And my family has been going on and on about going on cruise. I hope our Taiwan trip can be confirmed soon so that I can go book the cruise.

Long long post after a long long time. I think I had more to say yesterday, but I fell asleep. Never mind, back to 桃花小妹 for the on-screen eye candies 高以翔 and 丁春诚, and either Everett Rogers or the Universe.

你讓我記得每一個小細節,卻忘記了呼吸。

I like this quote.

This is life.

It was dinnertime.
I was asleep on the sofa, thanks to COM207 readings.
My mother came to wake me up.
I think they finished dinner.
She gave me a plate of rice and a dish of mushrooms with broccoli.
Nice!!!
I sat up from the sofa.
Eh!!!
Nothing on my hands!
I went to the kitchen where my mother was cooking.
No mushrooms!
What an amazing dream...

law by law
