The lecturer/tutor for the Chinese Migration module is so not encouraging.

Yes, you have mentioned in every single one of the past 3 lectures that HC4XX is meant for Year 3/4's and therefore not advisable for Year 1's like us, but since we have made this choice, we will greatly appreciate if you show us a little encouragement and not suggest more than one for us to drop this module, especially since the add/drop period is over and we cannot drop it even if we want to. I agree that it might be a little unfair to the seniors if you have to repeat what you have taught previously, since you guys seem to go a long way back. If you mention the concept, we can go read up on those if we are really interested. That's within our control. It's irritating to keep harping on how "those who took your module least semester would know"; I mean, we weren't even accepted yet, what can we do?? Makes me feel helpless eh.

Anyway, things will get better. So what if we are Year 1s? There's no harm done to the seniors, since we are probably going to be the ones at disadvantage. At least this module is interesting and relevant, but it is getting a little confusing for me.

During today's lecture, the lecturer mentioned that those Chinese who go overseas for education and return to China after that are called 海归[海龟], those who find themselves unemployed upon return and await employment are called 海待[海带], and those who are trying to seek employment are called 海找[海藻]。Basically, their status will be downgraded to an animal when they return. After which, they become a plant. =.= *Lame* Hehe the plant part was invented by me lah, but the lecturer provided all the terms.
