Shiyan, Sie Yen and I went for NTU's Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at Yunnan Garden last night. Fan Di, Jing Ting and Simin couldn't make it due to tuition.

The highlight turned out to be lantern carrying.

We were near the stage when my lantern flame started diminishing. I peered through the opening on top, curious to see how much of the candle was left. I couldn't spot the base of the candle. The flame was still burning. I glanced away, and then heard the girls ask, "Eh, how come there's smoke?" I looked at them, and peered into the lantern again. OMG the flame had burnt a small hole in the base of the paper lantern! I tried blowing at the flame, but the flame continued to burn. All three of us started blowing at the flame, but the flame burnt stronger! Soon, the lantern started burning! I dropped the lantern onto the grassy ground, but the flame didn't go out! Shiyan tried stepping on the flame, but the problem was, we were all wearing slippers! I was half-hilarious, half-freaking out. Thank goodness this girl in sneakers came over and stomped out the flame. I waited for the lantern debris to cool down before bringing it to the rubbish bin. The lantern debris ended up in the shape of "8", cuz the cylindrical portion was gone, leaving the top and bottom, each with the center portion burnt. Good omen, bad omen? Or simply bad lantern-ing skills? Exciting...

We all went for 黄大仙 fortune-telling to ask for 姻缘 -.- Basically, I'm not supposed to get married before the next CNY. On the contrary, from now until the next CNY is a good period for Shiyan to get married. Sie Yen is assumed to be married with a good relationship with her husband[?]. Haha 求签，掷筊 quite fun...
