Yes, we didn't sleep the whole night. They wanted to bring us for 升旗典禮 in the morning on the first day of the new year, but we ended up going straight to Taichung. There was a 客運 from 劍潭 straight to Taichung, from which we took 台鐵區間車 to 豐原 in 台中縣, where 綠茶's family stays. We took a short nap on the 客運, but it was really cold. When we got to 豐原, 綠茶's parents came to fetch us. They keep telling us her family's house 是在鄉下, but it turned out 台中縣 just does not have 高樓大廈 like 台中市、台北市. 綠茶's mum was telling us about the commotion at the 升旗典禮, so it turned out that not going might have been the right choice.

We reached 綠茶's house around 10am. 綠茶's mum asked Jessie, Sie Yen and me to stay in 阿嬤's room, where there is a heater. Once we have settled down in 綠茶's house, we finally went to bed and slept until afternoon. When we woke up, 綠茶's mum bought cheese cake from Carrefour (Carrefour is quite common in Taiwan), and made coffee and mulberry tea for us. We slacked around and watched Taiwanese TV until evening.

綠茶 and her sister drove us to 文心公園, which is a really pretty public park for performances. That night was especially pretty because they were having a telecast of some Viennese music performance. We then moved on to 文心夜市, which is one of the local night market. It's different from the bigger ones like 士林夜市、逢甲夜市. It's on a smaller scale, but there was good food there nonetheless!

Jessie, Sie Yen and I walked through the whole night market and bought this really delicious fried 小蝦、小螃蟹 *thumbs up*, and 滷雞翅、雞胸、雞腿, and 滷味. I didn't know 滷味 is cold! Not quite like what I expected it to be, but it's still nice! The rest bought a lot of food too! Let's see if I can recall everything. 臭豆腐、蒙古烤肉 *thumbs up*、石板烤肉、豆乳雞、東山鴨頭 *thumbs up*、甜不辣. Did I miss out anything? The 臭豆腐 was different from the one I tried last time. This fried one is so much more fragrant and nicer because it does not leave a sewage smell in my mouth! For 蒙古烤肉, basically you choose a meat and fill the basket with as much vegetable as possible, and the stall will fry them for you. 東山鴨頭 is basically 鴨脖子, something like the one my brother bought from Wuhan, but this is more fragrant rather than spicy. We got drinks too, but not the nicest we've had in Taiwan. After dinner, we went to play this mahjong bingo game, but hahah we never win.

Later that night, we had a mask party! Wahahah! 綠茶 bought these crystal collagen masks recommended by Makiyo, and she brought some down to Taichung. Damn funny, imagine everyone with a jelly mask, with a video camera facing us. The mask is really quite moisturizing and not too expensive. I think I will buy that soon and give away as presents.

I shall move on to Day 3 tomorrow.

未完。待續。
