Finally, I'm on to Day 6! I decided to resume writing. Hahahah now, why was I? Ah, I was in Jioufen.

The lady boss prepared breakfast for us - sandwich and milk tea. The service at the 民宿 is really great, totally makes us feel at home. Not that my mother makes sandwich for us at home. After breakfast, we moved out of the 民宿 and headed out for Yehliu Geological Park, and omg it was COLD outside. On our way to Yehliu on the cab, we could see waves crashing against the shores along the way.

When we got to Yehliu, I think it was raining, and there was an announcement about the waves being strong so visitors had to be extra careful. I wanted to just not take any pictures since I have been there before and I was afraid my frozen hands will drop my phone (which I was using as a camera). I ended up taking photos anyway. Amazingly, I am afraid of waters but I love watching waves. I think they are spectacular, as long as I am not close enough to be swept away. Sometimes, I think I love what I'm scared of. Waters, height, speed... Sometimes you see me loving them, sometimes I fear them. Confused kid eh?

We did not stay long at Yehliu. Quite a pity, I will say. The last time we went, it was summer, so we spent quite some time touring the park and visiting the various geological structures. This time we only went to see the Queen's Head. And well, we met some tourists from China who did not leave a good impression. They cut our queue to take photos with the Queen's Head, and when another group of their own countrymen cut their queue, they were almost arguing amongst themselves.

After Yehliu, we took a little walk through a "market" outside the geological park. Such markets in Taiwan are quite scary. Sometimes the things they are selling are interesting, appealing, but the way the vendors try to reach out to you, like, literally, is repulsive. Don't really dare to go too near the stalls or show any sign of interest in buying.

We left Yehliu for Taipei. Let's skip the cab journey back, I'm lazy. I finally borrowed Sie Yen's phone to send a SMS to my brother and he said my roaming should be up by that night. Anyway, we went with Jessie's "bolster" and sisters and friends back to their rooms in 社子里. It's a really grand 民宿! The lady boss has a really pretty daughter, who happens to be really smart but is helping her mum clean up rooms at their 民宿. Anyway, the 民宿 is this whole building and the lady boss owns the building, I think. The daughter is from 天母國小, and Jessie told us that pretty much indicates how well-off the family is. She studied law in Seattle and then came back to study in a 醫學院 in Taiwan. I'm not sure if she's got a full-time job now or if she's managing the 民宿 with her mother. The rooms are like hotel rooms, just not with that many facilities. The toilet has a 落地窗! You get quite a good view of the city from the room, but I think that view is not especially pretty. But their rent is very affordable for such a room, and Jessie started making enquiries for her post-graduation days in Taiwan.

It was around mid-afternoon, and you notice I have not written about lunch. The lady boss suggested that we try either this 小火鍋 nearby or the 熱炒 downstairs. Too bad the 小火鍋 shop was not open then, so we went for 熱炒. We ordered fried noodle, fried bee hoon, fried rice and soup. I like food in Taiwan. The food in Taiwan is not fanciful. In fact, it's very simple. But as simple as it is, it just tastes great. Halfway through lunch, the rest of Jessie's friends joined us at the 熱炒店 and ordered another fried bee hoon and fried rice. The whole meal totaled to about SGD2 per person, if I didn't remember wrongly. Nice right!

After lunch, we took 公車 back to 綠茶's place. It's really nearby, because both places are in 士林區. 綠茶 had just finished filming Vivi's part when we met them back in the room and 凱樂 was on his way over, from school? My memory is starting to fail me. The plan for the night was to go to the cafe where 綠茶 works and do some filming, followed by meeting the people from 好客網 for dinner.

凱樂 was telling us about the 酒店 beside the cafe and the services offered inside. In case you are wondering what service can a hotel offer, this 酒店 is not the accommodation kind of hotel. Anyway, we curious people who have never seen such thing before, namely Jessie, Sie Yen and I, started staring at the entrance to see who's going in and coming out. The rest of the time, we were watching 綠茶 direct and film Vivi and 凱樂 in the cafe, and being very amazed by how professional (愛演 actually) her colleagues at the cafe were. I kept checking my phone to see if my roaming was up, but there was still no network.

After they were done with filming, we minus Vivi, who had another meeting, moved on to meet the 好客網 people. We walked while 綠茶 rode her 機車 over, meeting us halfway along the way to fetch Sie Yen over. The rest of us continued chatting. Turns out Jessie, 凱樂 and I are all December babies, but we are so different. I think Jessie is very admirable. She may only be one year older than me, but she's so 懂事 and considerate towards her family, especially financially. Hmm, maybe I'll talk more about this later.

Finally we reached the 熱炒店 where we were supposed to meet the 好客網 people, and 綠茶 and Sie Yen were there with them. I cannot really recall what we talked about during dinner because the shop was quite noisy and I've got 耳背 problem so I could not really hear. I was mainly talking to Jessie and 凱樂. 綠茶 shared their team's plans with the 好客網 people and we talked about our experience in Taiwan and how it's like in Singapore. I was still checking for my roaming, and was enlightened that I have to turn my phone off and on again to get the roaming working. Finally, I was able to use my phone and SMS back to Singapore. Not a good thing, because I started sending many SMS-es back to Singapore, disregarding the cost.

We walked to 中山捷運站 to take MRT back to 劍潭 so that we can go shopping at 士林夜市 again! We didn't spend much time there this time. We went back to the stall where we bought the pullovers to buy more pullovers in preparation for our trip to 陽明山, where 文化大學 is, the next day, and the boss warned us of the impending low temperatures. I really don't know what to expect leh! We bought gloves too! Not the fully covered type, but the ones which expose half of our fingers. It's very inconvenient to have your entire hands covered up, especially when you need to use your phone.

The way I'm writing these posts makes it look like I'm rushing towards the end of the trip, but I feel the opposite way eh. I don't want to come back to Singapore. On one hand, I want to return to settle all that is not settled. But all these matters made me dread the return.

未完。待續。
